The Parcel by Marie Claire: Winter Edit

I missed out on the autumn edit of The Parcel because I forgot to resubscribe after I received my summer box. But after looking at photos on Instagram I don’t think I missed out on much because the quality kind of dipped a bit in that quarter. So when I paid for a yearly subscription I was concerned that it was going downhill but decided to take that leap of faith anyway and I’m glad I did. The one thing that I love most about The Parcel is how amazing they are at tailoring their boxes to seasons. The Winter Edit arrived on my doorstep today packed full of winter fighting goodies like lip balms, moisturisers and masks.

O.P.I Nail Lacquer in Romantically Involved
This is the perfect shade of red for winter. It’s a dark beautiful red that’s deep in colour from the limited edition 50 Shades of Grey range. O.P.I is my favourite nail polish brand because the formulas are quality that actually last on your fingernails. Full Size $19.95

L’Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes So Couture
The brush on this mascara has a whopping 408 (so very random and precise) bristles to help ensure a clump free mascara experience. The rubber brush head is extremely flexible helping to get to the very base of the eyelashes. The back of the box states that the ‘silky formula’ helps to create voluminous deep black lashes, but the first thing I noticed when I opened it is that it smelt like playdoh. It will be a while until I have a chance to use this because I went into squirrel mode and stockpiled a bunch of random mascaras at a recent cosmetics sale so it will go to the back of the line but I am looking forward to using it. It does look very glamorous but no cutsies L’Oreal.  Full Size $27.95

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid
I love Lanolips they are one of those great lip treatments that actually stay on your lips and keep them hydrated all day unlike those pretendsy glosses that wear off after five minutes. When I first started university in 2011 the only balm I used was the Lanolips Lip Ointment SPF 15 in Rhubarb. It was just the most perfect hydrating everyday lip product in the most gorgeous colour ever. Then I just forgot about it and started working my way through the rest of the lip products in my bathroom. So when I opened this seasons box and saw the Lanolips Lemonaid I was so freaking darn excited and it was just as good as I remembered it. The Lemonaid one smells exactly like fresh summer lemonade and is so hydrating on the lips. Made with 70% Ultra Pure Grade Lanolin and animal testing free, I’m glad to have you back in my life Lanolips, I was a fool to let you go! Full Size $15.95

Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Ageing Cream
This cream retails at $80 when purchased full sized so it is great to be able to give it a go and not fear wasting money incase it’s a dud! This is a thick and super luxe cream to create softer, smoother, more luminous skin and to help fight signs of the ageing process by keeping skin plump and hydrated. It smells absolutely divine and when I smoothed some onto the back of my hand it was so soothing and soaked right in, leaving me with baby soft skin. I think we are on to a winner here folks! Neutrogena Make-up Removing Cleansing Towelettes
I’ve never tried these wipes before but I have read all about the hype after Kim Kardashian named them one of her Holy Grail products. I’ve been really happy with using my Simple wipes so I haven’t really strayed. But tonight I used these to take off my makeup and holy moly, these are amazing. They are so soft and extremely gentle to the skin. While they do have a slight fragrance, they remove makeup in mere seconds without pulling or tugging at the skin. While I love the simple wipes I find that the first half of the packet aren’t moist enough at all to remove my makeup, while the bottom half are dripping wet. When I pulled the first wipe out it was ready to go. I was so pleasantly surprised by these and I will definitely be adding these to my shopping list. My skin felt amazing after using them. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mask For Intense Hydration
I absolutely love cloth sheet masks and had no idea that Neutrogena started making them, but if they are anything like the wipes they will be bloody fantastic mate. These ones are focused on hydration, which is perfect for the wintertime. I received three in my box and I’m giddy with excitement to give these a go. Considering the full pack of five retails for $25, including three in this box was mighty generous. Full Size

John Frieda Beach Blonde Cool Dip Purifying  Shampoo, Smooth Seas Detangling Conditioner and Ocean Waves Sea-Salt Spray
Meant to keep blonde locks in ship shape this three-step routine is meant to put some natural waviness into the hair while keeping the colour looking sharp. I’m especially excited to try the sea salt spray and try and achieve some Kate Bosworth-esque hair. Sample Size

Woolworths Select Quick and Easy Nail Polish Removal Wipes
This is a cute little tub of ready to go wipes soaked in nail polish remover. Sometimes I’m really really lazy and can’t be bothered finding the nail polish remover AND the cotton pads to take off my polish so these acetone free will be perfect to keep in my bedside table. Oh boy, what will they think of next? Full Size $2

Once again The Parcel delivered value wise. Considering my yearly subscription cost around $90 and the full sized products in this box alone (excluding sample sizes) came in at $65.85, I think that’s pretty grand don’t you?
