Oh Violet Box, this month was so very conflicting.
Lets start with some love hey? I am extremely chuffed that every single product
in this months box is cruelty free. Every. Single. One. Next up is the not so
great: Besides it being a May box arriving in June I feel like I’d already seen
the products many times throughout different boxes. But nonetheless, it was
full of lots of full size products and deluxe samples without a tiny magazine style sachet to be found.
Mitsura
Kabuki Brush
I haven’t received a brush in a beauty box
yet and this one is a beautifully soft and luxourious feeling brush that is one
of those great multi purpose tools to keep in your bathroom. Use it for
bronzers, blushes, foundations, finishing powders and even for contouring. A
nice little inclusion. Full Size $14.95
Soak
Skin Booster Body Lotion
The brand Soak focuses on ‘super food
skincare’ and this body lotion is packed full of chia seeds. The same Chia
seeds that I have to usually pick out of my teeth after eating my morning
granola and yoghurt. The whole super food in skincare sounds pretty gimmicky to
me as I never brought into the #healthspo in the first place. But after apply
the lotions to my very dry hands it healed it almost instantly and absorbed
without leaving any residue. The smell is slightly overpowering but I actually
really liked it. Deluxe Sample
Hair
& Me Hair Rejuvenation Treatment
I actually picked this up when it first
came out because the company is owned by my former hairdresser Jess. The hair
treatment is organic and cruelty free and using a massive mix of wonderful oils
to create a deeply hydrating treatment that helps strengthen and repair hair.
Best left on while watching trashy TV and eating something deep-fried. Full Size $19.95
Urban
Skincare Co. Infuse Body Balm
Ah! Look who it is again! This is probably
the third or fourth time Urban Skincare Co. have popped up in a beauty box. In
fact I think it has been featured in Lust Have It and Bellabox as well. I still
haven’t used the exact other body balm I’ve received yet but now I’ve run out
of body butter I’ll have to start using them up. This balm is full of calcium,
magnesium and vitamin C, which sounds more like something you should be taking
in a vitamin with breakfast instead of rubbing all over your skin, but if it
works it works! Deluxe Sample
Meraki
by Design Body Scrub
The description on the card was quite vague
and threw out lots of words like “free spirited, gypsies, unique, colour and
bohemian” to describe the product which didn’t really give me much to go on. The
body scrub is bright green and smells like a party mix bag of lollies. When I had a shower and scrubbed it all over my body it was quite coarse, rough and temporarily stained my nailbeds bright green and once washed off my skin was really soft. Though it was soft in a waxy way. Even though I smelt amazing felt like my skin needed an insulin bath after.
