MaxFactor Masterpiece Transform Mascara
I received this in one of The Parcels and
was intrigued to try it because I heard quite mixed reviews but in the
end I just found it hard to apply and it left lashes looking clumpy and unnatural.
The brush on this is so strangely shaped but I thought it would be okay because
it’s a rubber brush and you usually can’t go wrong with that, but this was
pretty disappointing. I’ve used another mascara from MaxFactor before and it
was so divine and left lashes beautifully separated and lifted but this one did
the opposite. I think it would be great if the brush was curved towards the lash line because the little rubber bristles start off big and get smaller further down, so if it was curved I think it would work much better. There are barely any bristles
to begin with and the way they are spaced and the lack of them makes this kind
of terrible and leaves lashes really clumpy and stuck together from not being
separated properly. Every time I've used this I have to go over my lashes again with another mascara wand to unclump them. I think this would be perfect for the bottom lash line if
you like to wear bottom lash mascara but I’m not a fan of it so I won’t be
purchasing this again. TESTS ON ANIMALS.
Priceline Beauty Essentials Pencil
Sharpener
Like bobby pins I am always guaranteed to
lose my sharpeners for my lip and eyeliners. My favourite lip pencil needed to
be freshly sharpened so I ducked down to priceline to pick up a new one. I went
for the cheapest one of course because I think sharpeners are pretty standard
and you can’t really fail at them, I mean I’ve even used a normal pencil
sharpener in the past for cosmetics. So I picked this one up for $5 and when I
get home I discovered NONE of my lip or eye pencils fit in the sharpener. The
hole is so tiny that I have no idea what you can even used this for and I even
went through my mums makeup to see if it would work with any of her pencil
products and zip zada nada. This sharpener is literally useless and I don’t
think it would work with any products so if you are looking for a new sharpener
because yours ran away with mine to join a commune in the bush, then definitely
avoid this one at all costs.
Bourjois Liner Feutre Felt Tip Liner in
Noir
I was so in love with this liner when I
picked it up at a sale and was so pleased with it the first few times I used
it, but then it just stopped working. The felt tip, which when first purchased
was really firm and allowed for precise lines, wore out after a handful of uses
and the beautiful sharp cat eye turned into a finger painting smudge. It even
started to fray a tiny bit at the end so I couldn’t achieve a nice straight
line along my lash line because the little stray fibres would mess it all up. It is disappointing because the formula itself is quite wonderful as it is
extremely black and long lasting but the execution of the applicator completely
fails it. This costs $24 full price and is really not worth it considering how
quick it deteriorates. TESTS ON ANIMALS.
